The Village of Walden has placed its village manager on paid administrative leave following a federal indictment and amid an ongoing local investigation.
Mayor Becky Pearson confirmed to News 12 on Tuesday that Village Manager John Revella was placed on leave on April 1.
Revella was recently indicted by federal prosecutors, accused of failing to pay more than $1 million in taxes tied to his private law firm.
At the same time, the Orange County District Attorney’s Office is investigating the village’s housing rehabilitation program — which Revella oversaw.
The DA has confirmed subpoenas have been issued as part of that probe.
It is not clear how long the administrative leave will last or who is currently handling Revella’s duties.
News 12 has reached out to Revella and his attorney for comment, but hasn't received a response.
