Voters in the Clarkstown School District will head to the polls today to decide on a $110 million bond proposal.
School officials are looking to make upgrades at all nine of the district's elementary schools, plus the Birchwood school in West Nyack.
Some of the work involves improving or completely replacing electrical, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.
School administrators say the buildings have an average age of 61. Flooring and windows need to be replaced.
They say the district would not need to raise additional tax revenue to support the project because they are maximizing the availability of state building aid.
If voters give their approval, work will begin in the summer of 2026 and be completed in the summer of 2031.
The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
