Rocklands Office for Buildings and Codes says it issued five violations following an inspection of a building off Memorial Park Drive in Spring Valley after a fire Thursday morning.
The violations include not having fire extinguishers, staircases without banister and railings, storing five 100-pound propane tanks inside instead of outside and not having a person on fire watch.
The property owner is now potentially facing up to $5,000 in fines.
County officials believe Thursday morning's fire may have been an electrical fire.
As News 12 previously reported, the fire started on the first floor and no gas and electricity was hooked up.
