Antique artwork, leather-bound books and vintage vases are just a few of the timeless treasures you’ll find at Little Emporium in Newtown.
Located at the flagpole in downtown Newtown, this hidden gem is sure to be your next go-to for gifts.
“Every piece in the shop is carefully curated and hand-picked,” owner Sarah Bordash says.
Julie Kurose from Sandy Hook says, “I just love this little shop, and every time I come in, there are new things to look at.”
Stephanie Kane ventures from Fairfield for fantastic finds. “I’ve never seen a store that’s so homey and filled with treasures. There’s something really special about finding pieces that have a history to them and that have been in other people’s homes.”
Customers say stepping into Little Emporium is like being in a friend’s home.
Manager Ange Cretella explains why. “We really created this space to feel like it’s our home and our home space. And so when people come in, they can feel that because it’s authentic, and people really reflect that back to us and feel that when they come in to shop.”
Owner Sarah Bordash says the items they offer are special. “We cast a wide net at estate sales, auctions, markets and multi-dealer events,” stocking items that are “made in a way that things aren’t made anymore. And they have patina and character and age and color, and it really makes them more desirable.”
Kurose adds, “Whether you’re shopping for a gift or a special heirloom vintage piece for your home, you can always find something.”
Little Emporium is open seven days a week, and Bordash hopes you’ll make the trip and experience it yourself.
“I think when you come in here, what you’re looking through and what you’ll find is not really anywhere else.”
