Peter Miele, a Yonkers resident and Vietnam War veteran, recently shared his story of service and sacrifice.
Miele, a former Army medic, has spent the last 51 years on crutches due to an Agent Orange-related cancer that claimed his leg, hip and pelvis.
Despite his challenges, Miele expresses no regret over serving his country. "They have given up sacrifices, arms, limbs, sicknesses, and we cannot forget them or the men who served in 9/11," he said.
Miele has dedicated time to educating young kids about the importance of honoring veterans. His efforts aim to ensure that the sacrifices made by veterans like himself are remembered and appreciated.
