A motorcyclist from Verona was killed in a crash on I-78 East on Monday morning.

State police say 59-year-old Rosario Chiovaro was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound in the express lanes when he crashed into the rear of a Peterbilt dump truck traveling in the same direction.

The crash happened at milepost 52.9 in Union Township just after 8:30 a.m.

The motorcycle overturned, ejecting Chiovaro. He was fatally injured.
