Verizon is experiencing a country wide
cellphone and data outage, directly impacting Connecticut residents way of communication.
Small businesses and emergency services have been impacted by the outage, making payments hard to make and medical records hard to keep.
Experts say longer outages can lead to social isolation and stress for people who cannot find means to communicate, which adds to the issues arising with the outage.
"The outage has been resolved. If customers are still having an issue, we encourage them to restart their devices to reconnect to the network. For those affected, we will provide account credits. Details will be shared directly with customers. We sincerely apologize for the disruption," a Verizon spokesperson said in a statement.
