United Airlines flight 1513 had a near run-in with a drone while landing in Newark.

The FAA stated that the event occurred around 5:20 p.m. Friday.

The pilot stated that the drone was approximately 100 feet below the plane and was not hit during landing.

United officials say that 106 passengers and 5 crewmembers were on board. No one was injured.

The FAA added that they receive more than a hundred drone sighting reports near airports monthly, and want to remind the public that operating drones near airports is illegal and dangerous.
