An unidentified woman found unconscious in the waters of the Bay Ridge Channel on Friday has died, according to police.

The incident was reported around 11:30 a.m. near 43rd Street and the Bush Terminal Park in Brooklyn.

Authorities said the NYPD Harbor Unit responded to the scene and removed the unresponsive woman from the water.

EMS crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Police have not released the woman's identity and say the city's medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
