Connecticut veterans who are suffering from strokes and chronic pain will now have access to groundbreaking treatment.

UConn Health launched the Neuromodulation Center of Excellence for Veterans in Farmington Friday.

Neuromodulaton is a technology that acts directly upon the nervous system and has emerged as breakthrough care for strokes, chronic pain, PTSD and mobility impairment.

The center is the first-of-its-kind in the state and is expected to welcome its first patients later this summer.
