A quiet Park Slope block is searching for answers after two women were found dead inside a building on Second Street Saturday night. Police identified the women as 58-year-old Olga Bracero and 23-year-old Kayla Wilson. Officers were called to the building just before 8 p.m. after a 911 call reported a woman had been assaulted. When they arrived, investigators say they found Bracero unconscious with multiple stab wounds. As officers searched the building, they also found Wilson unconscious with stab wounds. Both women were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not said what led up to the deaths, and no arrests have been announced. On Monday morning, candles, flowers and balloons sat outside the building. Some neighbors told News 12 they believe Bracero and Wilson were mother and daughter, though police have not officially confirmed their relationship. Friends and neighbors are struggling to come to terms with what happened. A family friend, Deshawn Jackson, said he spoke with Wilson just days before her death. "Thursday, Kayla called me around 9:00 at night to ask me if she could come cook some food at my house," Jackson said. "I cried because she's like my niece. You know, her mother's like my sister." Jackson described Bracero as a vegan pastry chef who was well known among friends and loved ones. For now, many questions remain unanswered. Investigators have not said what happened inside the building or whether they are looking for a suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
