Fair weather is continuing to nose in from the Tennessee Valley. For the most part, our skies tonight should be clear. But from time to time a couple of clouds could collect. Lows will be 5 to 10 degrees warmer than the average of 30.
There is a quick-moving storm in the upper peninsula of Michigan that is advancing in our direction. Most of the precipitation - some rain but mostly snow - will stay north of New Jersey. The ski areas of the Catskills and the Adirondacks should see light but measurable snow tonight into Saturday morning.
The skies will be filled with sunshine for most of the day tomorrow. A favorable west-southwest wind will help keep our daily highs in the low- to mid-50s. Another glorious afternoon.
The breeze swirls the coolish air around, but being in the sunshine makes it feel milder. Daily highs range from 50 to 56 degrees. The winds by Saturday night will change direction with the passage of a cold front. The winds will bring another round of below-normal temperatures to the state.
Sunday morning lows will be in the mid- to upper teens. Even with full sunshine on Sunday, our temperatures will barely get above the freezing mark. Dress in layers to prevent the chill if you are heading out to the St Patrick's Day parade in Belmar. The winds will make it feel like the low-20s for paradegoers.
Temperatures will remain chilly for Monday and then swing in the other direction again for Tuesday and the rest of the week. We will have to keep an eye on the weather maps for Wednesday. It's possible we could have a rain event turn fairly stormy.
