Two men arrested in connection to deadly assault in Bushwick
A 29-year-old man and a 38-year-old man are in custody following a fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old man and assault of another in Bushwick.
Police responded to an assault in front of 1071 Broadway a few minutes before 2 a.m. on April 26.
When police arrived, they saw 26-year-old Amare Simmons with a stab wound to his abdomen and a slash on his face. Police also observed a 28-year-old man with a slash would to his left arm.
Both men were transported by EMS to Wycoff Heights Medical Center where Simmons was pronounced deceased.
Investigators say two people were taken into custody.
Police have now charged 29-year-old Darrin Webster and 38-year-old Randolph Robertson for the assault.
Webster is facing charges for murder, attempted assault, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Robertson is facing charges on assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance and menacing.
