A driver of a porta-potty tank truck was seriously injured after a crash in Hillsborough Township Thursday morning.

Firefighters ​found the driver pinned to the dashboard just before 8 a.m., after crashing into trees near Montgomery Road. The impact caused the tank to separate, crushing the cab.

Emergency responders removed the truck door and safely freed the driver in about 45 minutes. He was airlifted to the hospital.

Crews needed to decontaminate their equipment after the incident.
