A Trenton woman was killed Sunday night after being struck by two vehicles in Ewing, authorities said.
Police responded around 10:10 p.m. March 22 to Olden Avenue near Sixth Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Olden Avenue was closed in both directions between Fifth Street and Prospect Street during the investigation, which was assisted by the Mercer County Department of Transportation, police said.
A preliminary investigation found that a Toyota Tacoma driven by a 21-year-old Egg Harbor Township resident was traveling northbound on Olden Avenue when it struck a pedestrian. She was then hit by a second vehicle — an Acura TSX driven by a 39-year-old Trenton resident traveling in the northbound passing lane, police said.
The pedestrian, identified as 41-year-old Krystle Tomlin of Trenton, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Both drivers remained at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
