A large tree fell onto a car on North Avenue in New Rochelle Thursday evening, forcing road closures as crews worked to clear the scene.

The New Rochelle Fire Chief says a woman was driving along North Avenue when the tree came down, landing on the hood of her car.

Officials say no injuries were reported.

Crews worked quickly to remove a large portion of the tree from the roadway. A barricade now sits along the side from where the tree fell.

"The scene was very calm when we got here. There were a lot of first responders. Everything seemed under control," said a woman who came to check out what had happened.

Authorities have not said what caused the tree to fall.
