A tractor‑trailer carrying chocolate chip cookies overturned and caught fire early this morning on I‑287 south in Bridgewater.
State troopers responded to the crash around 2:35 a.m. at milepost 13.2.
A preliminary investigation found that two tractor‑trailers collided on the southbound side. The impact caused one truck to overturn and become fully engulfed in flames. That truck was hauling chocolate chip cookies. The second tractor‑trailer was transporting fresh food products.
No injuries were reported at the scene.
Southbound lanes were shut down for several hours but began reopening after crews cleared part of the wreckage. All lanes were fully reopened by 7:30 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released.
