Police say five people suffered minor injuries after a coach bus and seven other vehicles collided Sunday night on the Long Island Expressway.
Detectives say the crash happened on the westbound lanes near Exit 42.
Twenty passengers were on board the coach bus at the time, five of whom were taken to area hospitals for minor injuries, according to police.
Crews worked for a little more than two hours to clear the pileup of vehicles.
At one point, all westbound lanes of the LIE were closed as crews worked to clear the wreckage of the cars.
Video from the scene showed the breadth of traffic on both sides of the roadway and the pileup of vehicles involved in the crash.
News 12 cameras recorded seven vehicles being towed away, including the coach bus.
Jericho Fire Department Chief Kerry Ketsoglou says 18 people were taken to their headquarters to be transferred onto another coach bus.
Nassau police say no one in the other vehicles suffered any other injuries.
A cause of the crash was not immediately known as of Sunday night.
