A Torrington high school student and aspiring Eagle Scout is looking to raise money to help a Torrington food bank. Back in November, Nick Borja, who is working toward earning his Eagle Scout Badge, partnered with the Friendly Hands Food Bank. He is currently working on the planning, fundraising and construction of a bus stop shed that will also be a food pantry. Boja says the shed will be located at the food bank on Winsted Road and will "provide a safe, reliable protection from the elements from those who rely on this location." The food bank's director says the project is expected to cost $69,000. So far, Broja has raised just over $1,000.
