Torrington police officers responded to a home along McKinley Street on a report of an armed robbery and shooting that occurred around 7:23 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Torrington police say the incident appears to be an isolated incident with no known danger to the public.

The incident is under active investigation by the Torrington Police Department.
