1 dead, 1 critically hurt in I-87 crash in Clarkstown

State police say Steven Redner, 47, was driving a 2009 Nissan that was disabled with no lights on, partially in the lane and on the right shoulder, when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Ford around 12:39 a.m.

A Tallman man died in a two-car crash on Interstate 87 northbound in Clarkstown early Monday morning.
State police say Steven Redner, 47, was driving a 2009 Nissan that was disabled with no lights on, partially in the lane and on the right shoulder, when it was rear-ended by a 2014 Ford around 12:39 a.m.
Both vehicles spun across all lanes and struck the median.
The Ford's driver, a 25-year-old man from Elmsford, received treatment from EMS at the scene and was taken to Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
All lanes reopened shortly before 8 a.m.
