The 33rd annual Bronx Dominican Parade shutdown the Grand Concourse on Sunday as thousands of Bronx residents lined the streets to show their Dominican pride.
Dominican flags were flown throughout the crowds. People celebrated the Dominican culture through music, dancing and traditional Dominican costumes.
News 12’s Elly Morillo was honored as La Madrina, or the Godmother, of the parade.
"As a woman of color in our industry, telling stories in the borough I grew up in, it's an honor for me to be here," Morillo said.
