An annual festival to cap off the summer season drew thousands to Pompton Lakes.
Pompton Day is marking its 20th year. The day started out with a fishing derby, followed by a 5K run. Then, a street fair took over Lakeside Avenue with 200 food, craft and art vendors.
Organizers say Pompton Day raises money that goes back into the community.
"It started as a celebration of our town...and it grew into this event where were now raising funds for our recreation programs that we run throughout the year," said Pompton Lakes Mayor Michael Serra.
Organizers say Pompton Day is one of the borough's largest events.
