The Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso held the 40th Annual Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event is known as New York City's largest and longest-running public celebration for MLK.
Over 2,000 people have turned out for this tribute, affectionally known as "King Day.”
The event features everything from music and dance to youth performances, free film screenings and family activities. Everything is to celebrate Dr. King's legacy of justice, life and community.
Mayor Zohran Mamdani is in attendance and will be a part of the reading of "The Drum Major Instinct" at The Brooklyn Academy of Music tonight.
