Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Public Schools Chancellor Melissa Aviles-Ramos announced that a tentative agreement was reached Friday to extend leases of four Brooklyn early childhood education centers, and one in Queens, that were set to
close at the end of the school year.
The centers include:
- Fort Greene Council Young Minds Day Care, Brooklyn
- Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center, Inc., Brooklyn
- Grand Street Settlement, Brooklyn
- Nuestros Ninos Day Care Center in Williamsburg, Brooklyn
- All My Children Day Care and Nursery School, Queens
Leaders of the centers said they were blindsided by the news of the closure which came a week before the
Myschools portal to register children for 3K and pre-K opened.
