A familiar feathered foe is targeting an apartment building in Fordham.
Pigeons have claimed stake of the fire escape, trash cans - anything they can perch on at the residential building on East 187th Street and Park Avenue.
Piles of poop decorate the entryway into the building, as tenants say they try to navigate around the mess.
People who live in the building say they are dealing with constant fear of being pooped on.
The problem intensified about six months ago, when flocks of pigeons began landing on the fire escape above the entryway.
"Every time I walk out the building, I have to lift up the umbrella, so I don't get bird poop on me," said one tenant, who did not want to be identified by name.
Tenants say the aesthetics is the least of their mounting concerns - they say it's a health hazard.
"You have seniors that live in the building, you have young people with children, and it's nasty, you could track this in your home it's not good," said another tenant.
Bold Property Management oversees the building.
"If everyone took care of their garbage, we wouldn't have these issues. They are dragging it down the hall" a person who answered the phone for the management company told News 12 over the phone.
She also said the super is at the building every day.
They also stated a crew would be sent out to clean up the mess but did not address if any prevention efforts would be taken.
