New Jersey is dealing with, once again, a rain event producing almost a month's worth of rain in less than eight hours. This has obviously caused significant problems on our roadways.

Flooding has been and will continue to be an issue for areas likely through the evening drive home. I can't stress this enough - if you come across a stretch of road that is covered with water, find a different way to get where you are going. It's just not worth it. There were multiple water rescues earlier today.

The forecast is showing wonderful signs of improvement. As this weather system continues to move away from the coast, less humid and clearer weather will follow. It sets the stage for superb summer weather for Tuesday.

Mostly sunny with a few afternoon clouds. Highs in the mid-80s. Humidity on a brief hiatus. Get outside and soak it all up. Tuesday will be the best day of the week. Why? There isn't an opportunity for a shower or thunderstorm.

By Wednesday and through the remainder of the week, it gets hotter. Thinking upper 80s to maybe 90 degrees. The humidity returns, so the atmosphere becomes really juicy, and because of the heat and humidity, a few afternoon thunderstorms could crop up. They would be widely scattered in nature. Don't cancel outdoor plans. Just plan for that pop-up storm that could rear up anywhere, especially after 3 p.m.
