53m agoA 27-year-old man was hospitalized after being pulled from the water in Long Beach.
Officials say shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Long Beach Fire Department and an emergency crew of lifeguards on standby responded to a call of a swimmer in distress.
The swimmer is currently in critical condition.
Long Beach officials say lifeguards are no longer on duty because the summer is coming to an end and urge residents not to swim when and where there are no lifeguards.
