At around 10 a.m. Friday, the Norwalk Fire Department responded to the same swan that got stuck in the Norwalk River last week.
The ice was still frozen enough for the firefighters to rescue the swan safely, according to Norwalk Deputy Fire Chief Stephen Shay.
The firefighters were then able to "scoop" the swan up after covering its head and using a shovel to take it out of the water.
Shay said once an animal's head is covered, it tends to calm down.
The fire department then handed the swan over to veterinary workers.
