Police tell News 12 they’re searching for five people wanted in connection to an armed robbery at the 18th Avenue subway station in Midwood.
They say it happened on Jan. 14 around 6 a.m. on the Ftrain at the 18th Avenue Subway Station.
Police say the group was carrying a bat, a piece of wood and a knife when they approached a 44-year-old man, forcefully taking his phone.
They then shoved him out of the subway car and onto the platform, continuing to move on the train.
This incident came about a week before the city deployed more NYPD officers to patrol subway stations overnight, with one on each train from 9 a.m. To 5 p.m.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
