A Northport Middle School staff member was arrested on school property Wednesday, according to the superintendent.

The district's superintendent says in a letter to the school community that the charges are not related to the district.

There was a police presence at the school on Thursday.

It's the third incident in the Northport-East Northport Union Free School District in just over a week.

There was previously a threat called into the school and racist graffiti found on the bleachers at East Northport Middle School.
