A Lindenhurst man was arrested after more than 40 weapons were seized from his home during a probation check.
Albert Tusa, 60, was taken into custody when police found brass knuckles and an expandable baton at his Granada Avenue home during a probation check for a previous criminal contempt conviction, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Police say a further search of Tusa's home uncovered 17 long guns, 16 switchblades, eight handguns and two high-capacity magazines.
Tusa was charged with 43 counts of criminal possession of a weapon with a prior conviction, eight counts of criminal possession of a firearm, two counts of criminal possession and one count each for criminal possession of an assault weapon and criminal contempt.
Tusa is being held overnight at the Third Precinct and is expected to be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Central Islip.
