A new study says children are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes after having COVID-19.
Research published in the JAMA Network Open Journal looked at health records from 600,000 children between 10 and 19 years old.
The kids were split into two groups, kids that have tested positive for COVID-19 and those who had another respiratory infection.
Researchers found those who had COVID-19 are 50% more likely to develop diabetes.
Researchers say the risk doubles for children who are overweight.
