Batches of moderate to heavy rain moved through this morning, but by midday, sunny breaks were seen in the cloud cover. As the system that brought the wet weather this morning moves away from the Hudson Valley, there will be a gradual decrease in cloud cover and an increase in temperatures for Wednesday.
Couple the warmer temperature trend and sunny skies with pleasant levels of humidity, and you’ve got yourself a fine candidate for the pick of the week! As the storm system pulls away, though, there will be some Canadian wildfire smoke being pulled down this way. It will be on the thin side, so air quality concerns are not expected to be a widespread concern for the population. But you will notice a touch of haze in the sky and a more vibrant sunset.
Thursday sees temperatures continuing to rise with the humidity doing so as well. Expect a muggy feeling to return but at least the area will be shower-free. The chance for showers does increase for Friday evening as a system approaches.
Here comes, yet again, another weekend with rain in the forecast. Saturday has showers around through much of the day with drier conditions trying to move in for Father's Day on Sunday.
Next week has a few more chances on the way but also temperatures rising from cooler than average levels.
OVERNIGHT: Decreasing cloud cover over time with a drier breeze coming in. This will help to lower humidity levels gradually. Lows: mid-50s to low 60s.
WEDNESDAY: Mainly sunny with some haze. Highs: low 80s. Lows: mid-60s.
THURSDAY: A mix of sun and clouds. Highs: mid-80s. Lows: low to mid-60s.
FRIDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a chance for early morning as well as late-day showers. Highs: upper 70s to low 80s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.
