Scattered downpours, leftover flooding and cooler temperatures in store for The Bronx on Friday

A flood watch is in effect from 2 p.m. today through 8 a.m. Friday.

Our borough saw between 1-3 inches of rain Thursday evening as slow moving heat-busting thunderstorms rolled through. The severe thunderstorm watch has expired and there are no current flood warnings in effect.
Leftover flooding could potentially impact travel during the overnight and into early parts of Friday. Mayor Eric Adams declared a state of emergency for New York City Thursday afternoon amid heavy downpours and flash flooding across the five boroughs.
These storms brought immediate relief from the heat. Temperatures were anywhere from 19-28 degrees cooler after these storms rolled through vs. the same time the day before.
Tonight: Slow moving storms clear out, much cooler and breezy. Lows near 66.
Friday: Hello August! Lingering morning showers. Residual flooding/standing water concerns. Gradual improvement, cooler and breezy. Highs near 72. Lows near 63.
Saturday: Sunny, warm, and comfy. Highs near 80. Lows near 65.
Sunday: Bright, nice and warm. Highs near 83. Lows near 68.
Monday: Mostly sunny, warm and pleasant. Highs near 85. Lows near 69.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, seasonable with low humidity. Highs near 84. Lows near 70.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, warm and noticeably humid. Highs near 82. Lows near 68.
