Conditions along the New Jersey coast are going to continue to deteriorate tonight through Thursday. Winds have been consistent today at 20-25 mph. Tomorrow, gusts will range from 35 to 45 mph.
Please have your local tide charts handy. During high tide, tides will be running 2-4 feet above the normal high water mark. This will make saltwater inundation unavoidable and some roads impassable.
Waves will continue to grow. Peak wave heights around 10-12 feet in the surf zone will carry a lot of sand away from area beaches. Some overwash of ocean water over dunes is possible in more susceptible spots.
There will be some on-and-off showers tonight, some of which could be fairly steady. Minor localized flooding could occur in some of the more robust rains. With the winds quickly ramping up, the conditions across New Jersey will feel and look like a hefty nor'easter.
Tomorrow, steady rains slowly taper and temperatures are still well below the norm of 84 degrees.
The weather conditions improve for Friday and Saturday and temperatures warm back up to where they should be for this time of the year.
