There is a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect for Sussex, Warren, Morris, northern Passaic, and Northwestern Bergen counties for about an inch of snow, sleet, and ice late this evening that will be slushy before changing to rain.
FORECAST:
Let's do it again! Another round of wintry weather is in-bound to New Jersey, however, it is not expected to be a moderate or major weather event. This event produces minor impacts with about an inch of snow, slush, and ice along the I-80 corridor and points north.
It remains cloudy all day before the wintry mix in our northern areas develops near 9 p.m. This wintry mix will be light but create slippery travel very late. It will start as light rain everywhere else across New Jersey, making for a wet experience.
The entire state will end up with rain overnight into Thursday morning. With broken light rain passing through New Jersey for Thursday morning, the morning commute impacts should be minor to limited. There will likely be puddles in Monmouth and Ocean counties where it snowed as that snow melts. Some of the snow is also blocking drains.
The weather finally improves Thursday midday with breaks of sun and a mild surge of air raising temperatures to 50 degrees. It clears up into Friday with gusty conditions. Wind will be from the northwest at 25-30 mph.
Clouds return for Saturday with a "bookend snow" weather event arriving. Saturday looks good until the evening where light snow arrives but quickly changes to rain overnight and lasts throughout the day Sunday. As the rain wraps up Sunday evening, it may switch back to snow before ending entirely.
As of now, next week doesn't look as active.
