FORECAST:
Rain and wind will move through Western CT starting Thursday. Get the rain gear ready now because this storm will bring wind driven soaking rain. This will be a strong storm that takes an inland path and not offshore like the last storm.
The rain will come in waves, and it looks like the heaviest could fall later in the day Thursday. The rainfall totals have come down a touch since yesterday's forecast and are more in line with a 1–2-inch range.
Plan ahead for some messy conditions during the afternoon and evening commutes. The timing on the storm could still change a little. Be sure to check back for more on Thursday's forecast.
There is a risk of some flash flooding with the high rainfall rates, as well as wet leaves clogging storm drains.
Minor coastal flooding may also happen during the high tide cycle Thursday evening.
The winds will pick up starting tomorrow, but the strongest gusts will hit during the day on Thursday. Gusts will likely range from about 30-40 mph, with the strongest gusts along the coast and elevations.
Start taking some precautions now and either plan to secure or take down Halloween decorations. Make sure all patio furniture is secure as well as trash/recycling cans outside your home.
