Updated flu and COVID-19 vaccines are now available at all Stop & Shop pharmacy locations, including six pharmacies in Westchester County.
The vaccines are available at no cost with most insurance plans and are administered by licensed pharmacists.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins received both his flu and COVID-19 vaccines at the Stop & Shop in New Rochelle and encouraged residents to get vaccinated ahead of the fall and winter seasons.
"Getting your flu and COVID-19 vaccines is one of the simplest, and most important steps we can take to protect ourselves and our families as we head into the fall and winter months," Jenkins said.
Jenkins said vaccination can help reduce the risk of serious illness and hospitalization, particularly for older adults and those with underlying health conditions.
Westchester County Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler also encouraged residents to get vaccinated.
"Flu vaccines are safe and effective and they are the best protection we have against influenza," Amler said.
Amler said getting vaccinated early can help protect people throughout flu season, which can last into the spring.
