A flood watch is in effect for parts of New Jersey as flooding rain is expected during the overnight heavy rain. This is in effect from 7 p.m. today through 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Today's weather is great ahead of stormy conditions that roll in for the overnight. Storms arrive by 9 p.m. or 10 p.m. and carry strong gusts of wind that will pass through New Jersey into tomorrow morning.

Storms will taper by 8 a.m. and the late morning and early afternoon should be fine with sunny breaks.

The temperatures can spike during this time, which can destabilize the atmosphere by 3 p.m. Thunderstorms develop by 3 p.m. and move through the state until sunset where then the atmosphere loses its energy to sustain storms.

Clouds linger overnight into Sunday where it turns breezy. Sunday is a good day. High temperatures are in the upper 60s/low 70s under sun and clouds.
