A 27-year-old Staten Island woman required emergency surgery after her moped hit a pothole in Sunset Park.
“They told me I would never be able to walk again,” said Aleksa Buono.
Buono tells News 12 it happened in June near 63rd St. and 2nd Ave.
“I was going on my way home, getting on the BQE toward Staten Island, and this big pothole was in my way and I flipped my bike.”
She says despite reaching out to 311 and police multiple times, the city has only done “patchwork” on the pothole.
“We pay taxes; the state needs to come and not just cover it with something — they need to really fix the hole and fix the problem,” said Buono.
