State police say a trooper was involved in a collision Sunday morning on the Southern State Parkway in Valley Stream.

Officials say troopers were responding around 6 a.m. to a one-car collision near Exit 14 that led to a DWI arrest.

While a trooper sat inside a patrol car managing traffic around the crash, a Jeep Wrangler slammed into the cruiser.

Police say the driver of the Jeep was not impaired.

Both the trooper and driver suffered minor injuries.
