State police say injuries were reported after a truck overturned on Interstate 684 on Thursday.
At least two people are recovering at a hospital after a crash involving an overturned truck on Interstate 684 near Goldens Bridge.
Police say it happened just before 2 p.m. on the southbound side, which is north of Exit 6 - NY 35 - Katonah.
News 12 has learned that the Vogler Brothers Septic vehicle that was overturned was leaking sewage onto the road.
The Goldens Bridge Fire Department told News 12 crews it was able to quickly contain it so it wouldn't go into the reservoir system.
The department says it believes about 200 to 400 gallons were spilled.
Crews were able to overturn the truck around 4 p.m.
The crash caused lane closures for over two hours.
"Our manpower did a great job, the firemen all showed up and did what they're supposed to do. The DOT came and helped us out with traffic control, they put out a lot of cones for us to help us with the traffic considering this was a midday accident," said Robert Melillo, deputy chief for the Goldens Bridge Fire Department.
Fire officials say there was also a car in the embankment, and they administered first aid.
State police say two passenger cars were also involved.
The Goldens Bridge Fire Department says they had about 20 volunteer firefighters on scene.
