New Jersey regulators are inspecting Freedom Fuel gas stations operating in the state to ensure they comply with state law, according to the New Jersey Office of Weights and Measures.

The agency said it is aware of Freedom Fuel stations in New Jersey and is conducting inspections as part of its oversight of gasoline sales. It said it routinely inspects gas stations for compliance and will take appropriate enforcement action if it finds violations, as it would with any company that fails to comply with state law.

Freedom Fuel describes itself on its website as "a privately owned and proudly patriotic company" that "answered President [Donald] Trump's call to action to lower prices at the pump."

The company said it received a strong consumer response after Trump promoted the chain in a July 1 Truth Social post announcing discounted fuel prices at 25 Freedom Fuel stations in the Philadelphia area ahead of the July 4 holiday.

Freedom Fuel's website lists five New Jersey locations: Marlton, Little Egg Harbor Township, West Berlin and two stations in Egg Harbor Township.

The Office of Weights and Measures said its routine inspections include testing pump accuracy, checking calibration seals and required certifications, verifying compliance with dispenser and signage regulations, and ensuring gasoline meets the octane rating advertised to consumers.
