Get ready for a colder feel today! Highs will reach near 50 this afternoon, but the wind will continue to make it feel a bit colder.
While the wind damage risk is fairly low today, make sure you secure loose outdoor objects and have the winter coat. A few scattered power outages can never be ruled out, but for more widespread wind damage this time of year you really need more frequent gusts around the 50 mph range or higher.
Later in spring and summer, we would get some more wind damage with gusts over 30 or 40 mph thanks to more weight on trees since they are fuller of leaves during that time of year.
Tonight will be clear and cold with lows in the 30s.
Other than a brief rain shower or two passing through tomorrow afternoon, the weekend will be dry. It will be warmer tomorrow — in the 50s — and colder on Sunday — in the 40s.
If you are going to any of the St. Patrick's Day parades this weekend, just have a light rain jacket or umbrella tomorrow just in case a quick shower moves through. For Sunday, just have the heavier jacket and sunglasses! By Monday, we will see our next chance for steadier rain showers just for the morning.
