With a "Dress to Impress" theme as its focus and the latest in trendy footwear on full display, individuals with developmental disabilities enjoyed the third annual Special Needs Sneaker Ball in Ardsley.
The event strives to empower individuals with learning disabilities through the power of music, dance and social interactions. For Adam Lieberman of the Bronx, this holiday gathering is not to be missed.
"I think it's a good way to have fun. I bought these sneakers for this party. It's the first time I'm wearing them,” he said.
"Everybody is with their family, with co-workers, dressing up and looking good. I wanted them to have the same opportunity. It's great for them to feel good and be sharp," said Latina Ferrer, vice president of the nonprofit organization RSC Westchester.
