The sun had not fully risen around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, but something was lighting up the sky in New Jersey.

Clear skies over the Garden State gave space enthusiasts a chance to watch a SpaceX rocket launch around 5:40 a.m. Those lucky enough to catch the spectacle might have seen the rocket in what is known as the “jellyfish” phase. The phenomenon occurs when sunlight reflects off the rocket plume at high altitude during twilight, creating a cloudlike appearance resembling a jellyfish.

People from the Jersey Shore to Hackensack were able to see the rocket after its 5:33 a.m. launch from Cape Canaveral in Florida.

The Starlink mission launched another 29 broadband satellites into low Earth orbit. This flight also marked a record-breaking 37th mission for this particular SpaceX booster.
