Officials say the Southport Metro-North railroad station has reopened following the death of a disorderly person.
MTA train operator's aboard train number 1563 requested police and medical assistance at the Southport Metro-North Railroad station to address a disorderly person at around 1:30 p.m.
MTA police officials say that a preliminary investigation revealed that a confrontation occurred inside the train followed by a person climbing between the second and third car of the train.
Upon reaching the top of the train car, the person came in contact with an electrified overhead catenary wire.
MTA officers and the Fairfield Fire department emergency service members determined that the person died.
MTA officials say that service resumed along the New Haven Line with 20-30 minute delays to be expected.
