Fairfield police officers alongside the MTA are investigating an isolated incident that has temporarily closed down the Southport train station.

Police officials say that commuters should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate train stations until further notice.

MTA officials say that there is currently no service in either direction at the Southport station.
