A Somerset County woman is competing in NBC's hit show, "American Ninja Warrior."
Abby Clark will compete in the semifinals, but most importantly, she hopes can inspire others.
"It's a great way to overcome obstacles literally in Ninja Warrior and in life," says Clark.
Abby Clark became the first woman to conquer the "V formation obstacle" and hit her third career buzzer on NBC's "American Ninja Warrior."
"Knowing everything came together, there is so much training that's involved and gearing up for the show, you know you only have one shot," said Clark. "Just a huge relief hitting a buzzer again."
The 31-year-old from Bedminster started her career post-collegiate gymnastics.
Her college sweetheart of 12 years, Joe Capo, who is now her fiancé, was cheering her on the entire time.
"She's one of the most consistent and mentally tough athletes, which is super important when you get out on the course," said Capo. "She's locked in all the time and it's incredible to watch. I look up to it every time I go out and watch her compete."
The power couple owns Nex Level Ninja in Flemington and is motivating the next generation.
"We want to give the community, kids and adults a chance to explore this amazing sport of Ninja Warrior and have a safe place to do it," said Clark.
"And I honestly think the most important part is learning how to get up after your failures," says Capo.
They are taking that New Jersey strength and sharing a powerful message on the national stage.
Clark's semifinals will air next Monday night.
